What a match cut is, and how this one works
A match cut joins two shots that share a shape, an action or a subject, so the brain reads them as one continuous moment. In the zombie trend the shared action is the hug: the zombie grabbing you becomes the person embracing you in a memory.
AI Zombie writes the standoff so that the last shot is the grab, then brightens and blurs the frame into light and cross-dissolves into the memory half. The 12-second cold section and the 13-second warm section are rendered separately and joined on that cut.
Getting the cleanest match
- Use a front-facing photo for photo 2. The face carries the match, and a clear face keeps the zombie and the memory version consistent.
- Keep one subject per photo. Group photos confuse who turns and who holds the gun.
- Vertical 9:16 keeps the hug centered on phone screens where the cut is most visible.
Make it
- Upload two photos. Photo 1 is you, the one holding the gun. Photo 2 is the person or pet who turns. JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB, one subject per photo, face clearly visible.
- Pick the format. Choose vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or 16:9 for YouTube and wide screens. Choose Person or Pet for photo 2.
- Generate and wait 5 to 10 minutes. Each video costs 90 credits. You can leave the page; the finished video appears in your account history.
- Download and post. Save the 25-second MP4 with its two-part score and post it as is. No editing, captions or sound selection is required.
